Patrick Urban
President, North America
Mr. Urban leads the North America region in strategy and operations for Merz Aesthetics. Mr. Urban is committed to driving commercial success by taking ownership of the customer experience and leading the aesthetics team to deliver trusted results.

Mr. Urban is committed to driving commercial success by taking ownership of the customer experience and leading the aesthetics team to deliver trusted results. He is a visionary leader and with more than 20 years of experience in operations and sales planning strategic campaigns, closing major accounts, mentoring personnel to greater productivity, targeting market segments, and optimizing procedures.
Prior to joining Merz in July 2016, Mr. Urban spent seven years at Ulthera, where he held the roles as Eastern Regional Sales Director, Director of National Sales, and Vice President of U.S. Sales. As the Vice President of U.S. Sales for Ulthera, Mr. Urban managed six regional sales directors and a national practice manager, overseeing all aspects of the sales division of Ulthera.
Prior to his career with Ulthera, Mr. Urban served as a National Sales Manager for LifeSync Corporation. In this role, he helped build and launch a market for the LifeSync Wireless ECG System in the U.S. Most recently, he served Merz as Chief Commercial Officer for Merz North America.
Mr. Urban holds a bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from Loyola.

Alana Sine
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Sine leads finance and commercial analytics for Merz Aesthetics North America. Ms. Sine joined Merz in 2005 and has held various finance roles of increasing responsibility within the Merz organization, including tax, financial reporting and business partner before being appointed CFO for Merz Aesthetics for the region in 2018.

Prior to joining Merz, she served as Senior Accountant for Lowes Foods Stores and was an auditor for Ernst & Young.
Ms. Sine earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and is a certified public accountant (CPA) in the state of North Carolina.

Joe Barry
General Counsel, North America
As Merz Aesthetics North America General Counsel, Mr. Barry heads up the region’s legal and compliance team. Joe is a native of New York City and began his legal career at the Shea & Gould law firm in Manhattan, where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and general corporate work.

Joe is a native of New York City and began his legal career at the Shea & Gould law firm in Manhattan, where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and general corporate work. After a six-year stint Joe went in-house and held positions of increased responsibility at Ogden Entertainment in New York City, Diageo in Norwalk CT and Medicis Pharmaceuticals in Scottsdale AZ before joining Merz in 2013. Joe has expertise in product launches, commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, human resources, intellectual property, regulatory, compliance, corporate governance, litigation and supply chain/manufacturing.
Joe received his Juris Doctor degree from the St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York, and a bachelors’ degrees in History from Fordham University in Bronx, New York.

Diana Romero, PhD
Sr. Vice President and Region Head Medical Affairs
Dr. Romero leads scientific and clinical strategy and execution, medical education and the field-based clinical and scientific teams for both the USA and Canada. Diana and her teams are passionate medical and scientific expert resources who provide the most relevant, up to date, contextualized, and fair balanced information to meet the unique needs of each customer and their patients.

Diana and her teams are passionate medical and scientific expert resources who provide the most relevant, up to date, contextualized, and fair balanced information to meet the unique needs of each customer and their patients. She is an experienced industry executive with over 16 years of Medical Aesthetics experience. She was one of the first field-based scientists in the U.S. supporting the approval of the first neurotoxin for cosmetic use and has played a pivotal role in the approval and launch of new products and aesthetic companies. Her teams currently serve as a bridge between HCPs and key functional areas, overseeing an engagement plan to generate, translate, and communicate clinical and scientific data. Throughout her career, she has been the recipient of numerous Awards of Excellence and was involved in developing models of operational excellence for field-based medical teams. Prior to entering the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Romero was the recipient of two NIH grants as Primary Investigator and has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles for which she was recognized with several professional awards.
Diana received her undergraduate degree from UCLA, Master’s degrees from CSULB in both Sports Psychology and Exercise Physiology and holds a PhD in Motor Control through the Department of Kinesiology at Arizona State University. Her research examined the effects of aging on how the brain controls and coordinates the motor and visual systems in fine motor movements.

Kim Lobell
Vice President, CORE Services
Ms. Lobell currently leads CORE Services for North America. As part of CORE Services, she is responsible for the following departments: communications, human resources, incentive compensation, sales enablement, and internal meetings and events. Ms. Lobell is committed to the success of people throughout the organization by delivering a superior employee experience.

Prior to joining Merz Aesthetics in February 2018, Ms. Lobell spent her career in the hospitality industry where she has over 20 years of experience in restaurant management operations and human resources. Previously with Au Bon Pain, she held several roles including Director of Talent Acquisition, Regional Human Resources Director and Director of Field Human Resources. She also spent sixteen years with Darden Restaurants holding many positions during her time there. Most recently, she served as Director, Human Resources, Merz North America.
Ms. Lobell holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia.

Neal Rafferty
Vice President, Compliance
Mr. Rafferty leads the compliance function within the Legal Department for North America. He is a veteran of the life sciences industry with more than 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and the medical device space.

He is a veteran of the life sciences industry with more than 22 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and the medical device space. He has worked the for the last 10 years at Merz in various leadership roles within both the Therapeutic and Aesthetic businesses.
Prior to joining Merz in January 2013, Mr. Rafferty spent twelve years at Galderma Laboratories, where he held several commercial roles & sales management positions in both their pharmaceutical and aesthetics divisions. Prior to that, Mr. Rafferty worked within the marketing group at Sunoco in New York.
Mr. Rafferty received his bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, and his Juris Doctor Degree from Delaware Law School – Widener University.
After attaining his JD degree, he also completed the Healthcare Compliance Program at Seton Hall School of Law in 2016.

Beth Gildea
Associate Vice President, Operations
Ms. Gildea leads customer success and commercial digital operations for Merz Aesthetics North America. Since joining Merz in 2015, Ms. Gildea has enjoyed various roles of increasing responsibility within the Merz organization. She is focused on building and leading high-performing teams, developing processes, commercial operations infrastructure and capabilities.

She is focused on building and leading high-performing teams, developing processes, commercial operations infrastructure and capabilities. She has more than 20 years of experience in sales, sales leadership, market research and commercial operations. Beth is committed to operational efficiency and optimizing the customer success journey within the organization.
Prior to 2015, Ms. Gildea spent 13 years in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, including 10 years with Salix Pharmaceuticals and three years with Ferndale Laboratories. In addition, she spent time in finance as a Financial Consultant with A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. As a result, Ms. Gildea leveraged her experience in sales, sales leadership and market research in her continuous professional growth at Merz. She has always been a results-driven professional with a documented record of building successful teams and exceeding goals while quickly achieving profitability.
Ms. Gildea holds a bachelor’s of science degree from West Virginia University.

Chris Van Dyk
Head of Sales, North America
Mr. Chris Van Dyk is the Head of Sales for North America at Merz Aesthetics. In this role, he leads the commercial strategy and corporate operations across the region, driving growth and ensuring the highest customer satisfaction standards.

Mr. Van Dyk is committed to focusing the organization on growth by unleashing the power of its people to fulfill customer desires to look better, feel better, and live better. His leadership philosophy centers on the belief that commercial success follows the commitment to growing customer satisfaction by leading the aesthetics team to deliver trustworthy outcomes.
With over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, Mr. Van Dyk has produced a solid record of consistent results that confirm his belief in the vital bond between customer and team. Before joining Merz Aesthetics in 2022, Mr. Van Dyk accumulated experience at several multinational organizations, including Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, Alcon, and others. These experiences led to the kind of leadership that brings out the best in people and inspires them to succeed in producing favorable commercial outcomes.
Mr. Van Dyk earned degrees in Kinesiology and Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick.
