To qualify for the award, applicants were scored based on the following six categories: culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communications and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analytics.
In addition, applicants were scored on essays and responses to questions related to chronic conditions and workplace health. The categories, scoring, and benchmarking were supervised by a national, non-biased group of representatives from the academic, medical, wellness, and business communities. Amongst all 2025 winners, exceptional flexibility, work-life balance, and mental health resources were common trends.
