Merz Aesthetics® Announces Exclusive Partnership With AccuVein, Offering AV500 Vein Visualization Device To Customers in the US

Merz Aesthetics, the world’s largest dedicated medical aesthetics business, and AccuVein, a leader in delivering solutions to increase vein assessment capabilities, today announced an exclusive partnership allowing Merz Aesthetics to be the sole authorized distributor of AccuVein’s vein visualization system in the U.S. aesthetics market.

“We are pleased to add AccuVein’s vein visualization device to the growing portfolio offered by Merz Aesthetics. This agreement enables us to deliver yet another tool that has the potential to evolve the patient experience,” said Patrick Urban, President of Merz Aesthetics North America. “Our commitment to fuel confidence is amplified through partnerships such as this one, and we are excited to continue expanding solutions for our customers to make it easy to work with us.”

AccuVein AV500 uses near-infrared technology to project a vivid map of the vasculature directly on the patient’s skin, revealing the superficial veins, bifurcations, and valves often invisible to the naked eye. In cosmetic injectable procedures, AccuVein helps providers personalize treatment to each patient’s anatomy by locating and avoiding veins, which improves the placement accuracy of injectables, increasing overall patient satisfaction.1,2*

“Patients are demanding a higher standard of care when they seek care from a provider,” said Dr. Tom Hopkins, Chief Medical Officer of AccuVein. “Using AccuVein technology to identify veins, clinicians can significantly enhance the patient experience by using the device that is designed to optimize patient safety in a cost effective manner.”

A limited initial AccuVein field pilot yielded positive results and significant expansion of both new customers and Merz Aesthetics portfolio adoption. Based on the pilot findings, the Merz Aesthetics and AccuVein strategic partnership will now move to scaled national launch.

The AccuVein AV500 device and its accessories are available from Merz Aesthetics and its network of authorized sales representatives. To learn more about the partnership between Merz Aesthetics and AccuVein, visit us.merzaesthetics.com or contact us at AccuVeinAx@merz.com.
